Its first sale was held on the 25th May, 1999, in the Ambulance practice Hall in Kurri Kurri. Following the success of the this first sale, the society made it an annual event. Due to growing popularity, it was decided after the Second Annual Sale that a larger revenue was needed. The Catholic Lyceum Hall on Cumberland Street in Cessnock was chosen for future sales. The sale continued to grow and in 2003, it was moved to the Cessnock Basketball Stadium in Mount View Road at the showground. Referenced from: Australian Aviary Life Magazine. |
